Petersfield ladies 1s set out (after some worry the pitch might be frozen from an early phone call by Andover captain) to play one of the top teams in the league Andover 1s. With no subs and a quick warm up they were ready to go into battle against the wolves who weren't going to make it an easy game. Petersfield held their own with much defensive play for most of the game. Andover scored their first goal 15 minutes in. After mixed play and lots of tireless networking from Fizz and Del in the centre Petersfield started to have some opportunities to break through the claws of their midline and defence. Daisy had some good runs on the right wing. In true form Andover kept their cool and played like an organised pack. They scored 2 more before half time.

With a team talk and supportive words as always, Petersfield kept their heads high and continued to play their game. With more breaks through Petersfield managed to gain a few short corners but couldn't break the sheer force of this team. Petersfield keeper Alex was put under pressure and she rose to the challenge with some incredible saves frustrating the opponents. Sheena and Karen fought well to keep the ball out of Petersfield's D. Meg continued time after time to sweep up any loose balls and clear them showing her cool and calm head in this pressured atmosphere. Anna our captain ran tirelessly up and down the pitch, so much that one of their players even commented on her work rate. Lauren continued to keep the wall of defence solid but it became even more difficult in the final minutes when Petersfield keeper had to leave to get to another game.
This opened up a big gap which Andover took full advantage of and they started to slot more goals in.
