Ladies 1's played Basingstoke 4's on home soil in very good hockey conditions. They had one sub who was only free for the first half so they knew they had to give their all if they were to win. Two minutes in Anna had a shot on goal unfortunately hitting the post. A brilliant shot from Georgie after five minutes put Petersfield in the lead, giving wind to their sails. This was shortly followed by another chance from Georgie which narrowly missed the goal showing her fight and determination. Spurred on by Georgie's efforts, Anna scored an excellent goals followed by a cracking straight strike from the top of the D from Fizz. Basingstoke fought back but rarely entered the Petersfield defence zone. Zola in true form weaved in and out of players showing her never tiring engine making passes and keeping the ball out of danger. Basingstoke did finally score 28 minutes in putting them on the score board. 30 minutes in Georgie scored once more to put us comfortably ahead at half time. After a quick vitamin C and water refuel and team talk from Anna and Alex, Petersfield was ready and raring again for action.

Some lovely defensive work from Sam, Alex and Alice on any oncoming attacks. Alice on the left wing brought the ball up the wings time and time again making opportunities. Daisy on the right wing made some lovely opportunities to attack and had a strong strike on goal which unfortunately hit off the bar narrowly missing. Eva had a shot on target from her reverse and the rebound was hammered by Anna. Fizz stormed down the pitch weaving skilfully in an out of the players to send a bullet strike in the top left corner. This was swiftly followed by 2 goals from Basingstoke who were desperately trying to scrape back some points. However, Petersfield ended with an emphatic response with one last goal in the dying minutes making them the glorious winners.

With a powerful display of teamwork, skill, and tenacity, Petersfield Ladies 1's proved they’re a force to be reckoned with this season, sealing their well-deserved 7-3 victory.
